Sheepscombe Cricket Pavilion

Local author, Laurie Lee loved village cricket and was a great friend of our demon bowler and Sheepscombe poet Frank Mansell.  Laurie bought the ground in 1971 in memory of his uncles who were founder members so that the club could play there for as long as they wanted.  In 2013 we bought the ground after many fundraising events in the village, to be certain that it is protected for sport in Sheepscombe forever.

Sheepscombe Cricket Club have been playing on the beautiful hilltop ground known as the Laurie Lee Field since 1896.  We play in the Gloucestershire County Cricket League on Saturdays and enjoy occasional Sunday and evening matches.  Anyone who loves a game of cricket is welcome to come along; there is nothing better than a game of cricket on a warm summer afternoon.

A game with a magnificent view
