19:00 - 22:00

We are delighted to announce the return of National Theatre Live to the Village with this performance of Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt – a passionate drama of love, family and endurance.

At the beginning of the 20th Century Leopoldstadt was the old, crowded, Jewish quarter of Vienna. Hermann Merz, a factory owner and baptised Jew now married to a Catholic, Gretl, has moved up in the world. We follow his story through war, revolution, impoverishment, annexation and the holocaust.

This highly acclaimed show is rated 12a and runs for 2 ½ hours without an interval although we are hoping to pause the action at an appropriate moment to allow a short break. There will be a cash bar.

Doors open at 7.00 the introductory reel (11 minutes) will be shown prior to the start of the play which will start at 7.30 promptly. Tickets are available from Kate Amos at £10 per adult and £5.00 for under 18 and through the Sheepscombe website
