In 1870’s Texas, Capt. Kidd is an itinerant newsreader who travels from town to town, being paid to read the news to the locals, choosing what to read and how to present it. He runs into a 10-year-old girl who was captured years ago by the Kiowa and was brought up by them. Now she is to be taken to relatives – whom she does not know. Reluctantly, Kidd agrees to take her on this long, and sometimes dangerous, journey across Texas. During the journey, Kidd and his largely silent young passenger build a rapport and an emotional bond between them. This is an ‘old-fashioned’ style adventure – and none the worse for that. The attention to detail is meticulous, the two lead performances are excellent and the photography is glorious on a big screen!

We would still be pleased if you booked here, although you are also welcome just to turn up. The usual donation applies; masks are still requested and we will seat you gently socially distanced!
