Activities

Sheepscombe has a lively social life. The Village Hall committee meets regularly to support and organise events through the year.

Sheepscombe History Society exists to promote the study of the village’s history, and to collect and preserve an archive of relevant historical material. Follow this link to the Society’s website.

Bridge Club season runs from September to May. The Club meets on 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of the month. It is held in the Village Hall and play starts at 7:00.

Toddler Group

Sheepscombe Cricket Club have been playing on the beautiful hilltop ground known as the Laurie Lee Field since 1896.  We play in the Gloucestershire County Cricket League on Saturdays and enjoy occasional Sunday and evening matches. 

Toddler Group meets on Mondays from 9:00 to 12:00 in the Village Hall.

Lunch Club
Village Cinema

Lunch club runs monthly for the more mature members of our community. The club started in December 2015 and meets in the village hall at 12.30pm. 
For £3 (or thereabouts) you will get a two course lunch & coffee and an opportunity to catch up with friends. 

Cinema is held the second Tuesday and fourth Tuesday of month in  the winter months.  Doors open 7:15 for 8:00 screening. There is no entry charge, but a voluntary £5 donation is requested.  
Second Tuesday – a recent ‘mainstream’ film. 
Fourth Tuesday – a ‘fringe film’, often with sub-titles, sometimes a classic, always top quality!

Textile Club

Textile Club meets on the first Monday of each month from 13:00 to 17:00 in the Village Hall.

WI meets at the Village Hall on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm.

Panto

Panto is a Sheepscombe tradition going back over many years. It is produced entirely by the people of the village and adds enormously to the sense of community.

Table Tennis

Table Tennis club does not meet regularly, but is involved with some matches and a table with bats is available in the Village Hall. Click link for more details.
