Social Life

The Village Hall committee and some individuals suggest and organise many and varied social activities and events for the village. For example, there is the very popular firework night each November, and May Day is celebrated each year, plus events such as skittles and boules contests. New members of the committee are always welcome.

The Sheepscombe News is a monthly magazine available by subscription (£10 per annum) that contains information and items of interest to local people.

The Social Scene is an email newsletter that keeps you up to date with what’s going on, from social gatherings to roadworks.

Pub

Butcher's Arms pub, Sheepscombe

The Butcher’s Arms is a wonderful country pub right in the centre of the village, serving traditional home-cooked food, real ales and wines. It is a favourite with walkers, and hosts the popular quiz night on the first Thursday of each month.  See more at the Butcher’s Arms website.

School

Sheepscombe is lucky to have a thriving primary school with around 55 pupils. It is an important feature of village life with FOSS (the Friends of Sheepscombe School) bringing together the school with parents and interested members of the community.  See more at the School’s website.

Church

St John the Apostle parish church is a landmark feature of Sheepscombe. There are regular opportunities for worship on Sundays and during the week. Please see the Church website for more information.
